Vick is a music enthusiast and starting playing trumpet in the band, which led to him receiving a scholarship at then, Memphis State University. After starting college right after high school, he also started working for Fed Ex as a package handler. At this point, he was working two part time jobs, attending school, and marching in the band. Vick credits the hard work ethic to his mother, Essie who often worked 2 jobs, and sometimes 3 jobs at Christmas to make sure that her children had the things that they needed.
After completing 2 years at Memphis State, Vick was offered a fulltime job at Richards Medical Company. Because he was working so many hours and conflicting schedules, he decided to focus on work. After working in one of the most physically demanding jobs for almost 10 years, Vick began to take on additional responsibilities at Smith & Nephew(formerly Richards). He was then offered a position as a supervisor, and held that position for 7 years, and is currently a Business Unit Manager. Vick is responsible for the Packaging Operations, as well as Manufacturing Training & Development.
Vick is currently enrolled at Union University and hopes to complete his Bachelors degree in Organizational Management in December 2011. In his spare time, Vick enjoys live sound engineering, and has begun learning aspects of studio recording.
